The System
Why Automation Isn't Passive Income
The phrase "passive income" attached to trading automation has cost a lot of people a lot of money. Automation changes the work — it doesn't eliminate it.

Automation is powerful, but "passive income" is the wrong frame — and a dangerous one. A system removes the manual labor of watching and clicking. It does not remove the responsibility of running it.
What automation actually removes
It genuinely takes away the exhausting parts: staring at charts all session, reacting in milliseconds, executing the same rule identically every time without fatigue or emotion (why scalping isn't a manual game). That's real, and it's valuable. But it's a change in where the work goes, not its disappearance.
What it doesn't remove
You still set and periodically revisit the risk boundaries (setting your boundaries). You still monitor — because software fails in ways that need a human to notice: a data hiccup, a broker outage, a regime the rules weren't built for (why bots blow up). "Set and forget" until a bad day is the single most common way automated accounts get hurt.
Automation trades the work of execution for the work of oversight. Lighter, yes. Zero, never. The operator who stops paying attention is the one who gets surprised.
The healthy frame
Think of a trading system as a tool you operate, not an ATM you walk away from — like autopilot, which flies the plane but still needs a pilot watching (what autonomous really means). NoVo removes the manual grind and keeps you in the operator's seat: you set the boundaries, watch the dashboard, and can switch it off anytime — powerful, but never "passive" (the tool checklist).
