Gammalens and the other free GEX visualisers do something valuable: they put dealer-positioning charts in front of traders who would never have paid to see them. If you are learning what a gamma flip even looks like, a free visual tool is the right first step and you should not pay for anything yet.

Where free visual tools stop

Three things tend to end the free-tool phase. Interpretation: a chart shows the shape but does not tell you what it means for the next hour. Latency and refresh: 0DTE structure changes intraday, and a stale picture is worse than no picture. The handoff: a read-only chart still leaves you to size, place and manage the trade somewhere else.

The core difference: analytics vs. analytics + execution

Analytics products end at the insight. They show you the picture; you then carry it to a broker window and place the trade yourself. That handoff is where scalps die — you saw the level, then fumbled the strike, hesitated, or forgot the stop.

NoVo is an execution cockpit. It maps the structure — net GEX regime, the gamma flip, call and put walls, gravity, expected move — and when you decide to take the trade, executes it in one click inside your own brokerage account: strike selected, size set to your risk settings, protective stop armed, exit ladder attached. It also pairs the dealer map with an in-house flow read — sweeps and block prints on the tape for SPY, QQQ and IWM — on the Analyst dashboard, so you are not paying a second vendor for the order-flow side.

A free chart tells you where the wall is. The harder questions are what it means right now, and whether you can act before the move is over.

Where each fits

Stay on free tools while you are learning the vocabulary — and read what gamma exposure actually is before paying anyone. Consider NoVo when the chart is no longer the bottleneck and execution is.

The honest caveats

NoVo is not a research terminal. It is built for SPY 0DTE/1DTE scalping, so if you want coverage across hundreds of tickers, equities screening or macro research, a dedicated analytics platform covers far more ground. NoVo does not remove risk either: options carry substantial risk of loss, nothing is guaranteed, and paper mode exists so you can test that for yourself. And it never enters a trade on its own — you click every entry. If you want something that takes positions unattended, this is not it.
