Educational only — not financial advice. Options trading carries substantial risk of loss. You decide every trade.

Most tools aimed at busy traders quietly promise the same thing: step away, and something will trade for you. NoVo does not do that, and it is worth being direct about why — because the distinction is the whole product.

What NoVo will not do

It will not enter a trade for you. Every entry is a click you make. If a setup forms at 11:40 and you are in a meeting, that setup passes. There is no toggle that changes this, and that is deliberate: you decide every trade, and the tool acts on your instruction. If what you actually want is something that takes positions unattended, this is not it.

What it does do — and this is the part that matters

Stepping away should cost you an opportunity. It should never cost you a position. The moment you open a trade, your downside is handled without you — and one thing deliberately stays in your hands:

1. A protective stop, armed at entry. Not a mental stop, not an alert — on Tradier a real resting order at your broker (survives a NoVo outage); on Alpaca (no broker stops for options) a stop enforced in NoVo's software. Either way, if the tape moves against you while your screen is off, the exit doesn't wait on you seeing it — though on Alpaca a full NoVo outage is the gap to size for. See hard stop vs. mental stop for why that distinction decides outcomes on 0DTE.

2. A multi-tier exit ladder. Profit targets and trailing logic are attached to the position from the start, so a winner gets banked to plan rather than to nerve. The mechanics are laid out in the exit ladder explained.

3. One caveat for a same-day option. The stop and ladder above will manage a 0DTE while you're away, but an in-the-money 0DTE left open into the close auto-exercises into shares. So the honest rule is simple: don't step away holding a same-day option into the final minutes. Close the 0DTE before you go, or carry a 1DTE+ if you need to be hands-off into the close.

Being away costs you the entry you did not take. It should never cost you the exit you already planned. That is the line NoVo is built on.

Why this is the honest trade-off

A tool that enters for you has to be right about when as well as what — and it takes on discretionary authority over your account to do it. A tool that executes your click only has to be right about the mechanics: strike, size, stop, exit. That is a far smaller promise, and a far more keepable one.

So the realistic picture for someone who cannot sit at a screen all session: you will take fewer trades. The ones you take will be managed the same way whether you are watching or not. If that trade-off is not enough for your schedule, read trading 0DTE with a full-time job — it is blunt about when this strategy is simply the wrong fit.
